7.  James Knox Polk Hardegree
Sarah F. "Sally" Elder, wife of James K. P. Hardegree, was born 28 Feb 1851 in GA and died 13 Dec 1924 in
Coweta Co.  Her burial was at Elim Baptist Church Cemetery in Coweta Co.  Rhonda Flynn submitted a copy 
of her death certificate which showed that Mrs. Sallie Hardegree died in Heard Co., GA on 13 Dec 1924.  
Her birth date was listed as 28 Feb 1852 and that she was 72 years 9 months 13 days old at the time of 
her death. Informant was C. L. Hardegree (her son Charlie Lee Hardegree) of Franklin, GA.  Mrs. Flynn also
submitted a copy of James K. P. Hardegree's death certificate which also showed that he died in Heard Co. 
on 22 Oct 1925.  He was born 12 Jul 1845 in Clarke Co., GA.  C. L. Hardegree was also the informant.  
[#2.] Sarah F. Elder is also found on page 432 as daughter of Wyche Malone Elder and Nancy Hardigree.

32.  William Edward Hardegree
A copy of the death certificate for Mrs. Ella Hardegree showed that she died 17 Sep 1927 in Heard Co., GA, 
age 59 years 4 months 22 days old, of "double pneumonia."  Burial was at the Hardegree Cemetery [Zach.
Hardegree Cemetery in Heard Co.]  Ella was born Apr 1864 in Heard Co., GA to Nead Moseley and Mary J.
Hollingworth.  Her full name was Mary Louella Moseley and she married W. E. Hardegree in 1890.

118.  Ida Lou (Hardegree) Thrower Jackson was born 30 Jun 1896 and died 15 Aug 1965.  Her burial is at the Zach.
Hardegree Cemetery in Heard Co., GA.  Her first husband Landon Thrower (28 Jul 1895 - 7 Apr 1919) is also
buried at this cemetery.

80.  Von Homer Hardigree.  His name was more likely Homer Von Hardigree since most records and his 
descendants refer to him as Homer Von Hardigree.  The following includes additional information on his children
by second wife Nora (Thompson) Hardigree.  Nora's parents were Noel and Jenny Thompson.
267.  viJerry Noel Hardigree, son of Nora Thompson and adopted by Homer Hardigree, was born in GA.  
He married Ruth ______, lived in Chattanooga, TN, and had 6 children by 1969.  They eventually
divorced.
268.  viiVonnie Jean Hardigree was born 2 May 1938 in Wintermill, GA and died 14 Jun 1995.  She is 
buried at Marshall Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Albertville, AL. She was married 3 times, 
married once illegally, and was in a common-law relationship.  She married first on 22 Oct 1951 
in Atlanta, GA to Barney L. Phillips and they divorced 29 Oct 1959 in Fulton Co., GA.  They had 
one child and Barney obtained full custody of him.  Jean married second to Paul Roger Hanley 
12 May 1961 in Ringgold, GA and they divorced 16 Nov 1962 in Fulton Co., GA.  They had 3
children.  Paul died at Jean's home on 12 Jun 1966.  Jean married third to Libori Lingwai in Russell 
Co., AL on 10 May 1963 and they had one child.  They divorced in 1970 and he took custody of 
their daughter.  Jean was illegally married to Francisco Luis "Frank" Barrios, a Pureto Rican, in 
Fort Benning, GA where he was in the military service.  They had one son.  She was said to have
married Thomas Powell on 4 November 1970 in Ringgold, GA.  Thomas was found dead on 
14 Dec 1970 due to acute alcoholism.

wife, Henry and Joyce Hanley.

custody of her after their divorce.

6.  Francisco Luis Barrios, Jr. was adopted as Louis Edwin Bogard.  He married Starla Renae 
Joiner, daughter of John Elliot "Paul" and Virginia Eloise "Jenny" (Thomason) Joiner, and 
they have two daughters, Karina Marie and Valerie Lynn.  Louis was sent to the orphanage 
when 5 years old then to a foster home (for a total of 1-1/2 years) then was adopted by the 
Bogard family in Dover, TN.
6.  Brian Clark was adopted by Donnie Phillips' ex-wife and her husband (the Clarks).
269.  viiiCarolyn JoAnn Hardigree married Artis Dillard Hanley, brother of her sister Jean's second 
husband.  They had 1 child by 1969 and lived in Atlanta, GA.  She is now deceased.
270.  ixHomer Von Hardigree, Jr.
271.  xWilliam Ray Hardigree married Delores ______ and they had one child by 1969.  He is now 
deceased and buried at Marshall Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Albertville, AL.
272.  xiJoyce Hardigree married Howard "Jack" Haney and had 3 children by 1969.  He was in the Army 
and they lived in OK.  Her last name was listed as Dobbins on her sister Sherry's 1985 obituary.  
Her husband is John Dobbins.
273.  xiiLinda Hardigree, twin of Brenda, had a daughter.

                                    Linda married Ray Eugene Patillo and they had 3 children when they divorced.
                                    She later married John Dorman then Woodrow Bradford.  Linda was born 24 Dec 
                                    1948 and died 4 Jan 1987.  Burial at Rose Hill Cemetery in Winder, GA.

274.  xiiiBrenda Fay Hardigree, twin of Linda, was born 24 Dec 1948.  She married first to Donald Owens 
                                    and they had one daughter.
                                            (8-1) Brenda K. [Owens] Miller, adopted by Kenneth D. Miller, married Timothy 
                                                Albert Sellers of Cairo, GA.
                                                They have two daughters.

                                    Brenda and Donald Owens divorced shortly after their daughter's birth.  She then married Wayne
                                    Gilbert Shaffer in 1967 and together they had two sons.
                                            (8-2) Terry Harry Wayne [Shaffer] Miller, adopted by Kenneth D. Miller, was born in 1968 and 
                                                    died 10 Nov 1995.  Buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  He and his wife Amy
                                                    King Miller, had one daughter.
                                                (9-1) Toni Lynn Miller
                                            (8-3)  Berry Charles [Shaffer] Miller, adopted by Kenneth D. Miller, had two daughters by 
                                                    his wife Birgit and is now divorced.  Berry retired from the Army after 20 years.

                                    After her divorce from Shaffer, Brenda married Kenneth Dwayne Miller who adopted all three of
                                    her children.  Brenda died 24 Aug 1983 and is buried at Chapel Christian Church Cemetery in
                                    Barrow Co., GA.
275.  xivSherry Diane Hardigree married Wayne Pitts and they had two children by 1969.  [See below

276.  xvHarry Don Hardigree, twin of Larry, was mentally retarded.

Hardigree of Conley, GA, and brothers - Homer Hardigree, Jr. of TX, William Hardigree of Garden City, GA,

sister, Mrs. Thomas (Gail) Jones.  She was born in Walton Co. and lived there most of her life.  Survived 
by her daughter, Mrs. Deborah Stephens of Norcross; and her son Mr. and Mrs. Michael (Terry) Martin 
of Winder; grandchildren, Mr. Huie Dale, Mr. Christopher Stephens, Mr. and Mrs. Jamie (Amy) 
Chambers, Mrs. Nicole Dale, and step granddaughter, Mrs. Melissa Kade; five great grandchildren; 
brother, Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Nancy) Camp; sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Roy (Shelva) Westmoreland, Mr.

Co., GA and a veteran of U. S. Army and U. S. Air Force.  He was survived by his wife Martha; three
daughters - Samantha, Patsy and Robin; brothers - Donald, Charles and Robert "Bo"; sisters - Myrna, 
Linda, Laverne, Judy and Melvis; and 7 grandchildren - Kayla, Patrick, Kensy, Kelly, Karly, Andy and 
Ricky.

Oconee Co., GA, born 15 Jul 1919.  He was a U. S. Army veteran of WWII and received a Purple Heart.  He 
was a member of Woodmen of the World.  Burial was at Bethabara Baptist Church Cemetery.  He was survived
by his wife Marie (Freeman) Hardigree; 2 sons and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Janice Hardigree of Bogart and
Mike Hardigree of Athens; 2 sisters, Doris Barber of Winder and Sue Payne of Bogart; 5 grandchildren, Amy and
Scott Aycock, Adam Hardigree, Melissa Hardigree, Joseph Hardigree and Jessica Hardigree; 2 great-
grandchildren, Camden and Ashton Aycock.

Hardigree; brothers, Hoyt, Havel and Hollis Hardigree; and sister, Hermie Morgan.  He was survived by his wife 
of 47 years, Rebecca Nash Hardigree; son, Joseph Hardigree and his wife, Cindy of Auburn, GA; daughter, 
Lisa Hendrick of Dacula, GA; grandsons, Kyle Gresham, Will Hardigree, Derek and Adam Hendrick; sisters, 
Kitty Atwood of Raleigh, NC and Hilda Mauldin of Rockhill, SC; and several nieces and nephews.  Burial 
services was handled by Tom M. Wages Funeral Service in Lawrenceville, GA.

Annie Ruth Haygood (30 Sep 1927 - 8 Jul 2004).

(9-1)  Robert Lathaniel "Robby" Dunaway is a student at LaGrange College in GA.

[253.]  (7-3) Nellie Rachel Thompson's third husband, Lindberg Almond "Lindy" Saunders, was born 28 Jun 1927 and 
died at age 75 in Winder, GA on 4 Dec 2002.  He was a WWII veteran.  Burial at Evergreen Memorial Park.  
Lindy was survived by his wife and their two daughters, Millie Coe and Jamie Strom.
Nellie Rachel Thompson Saunders, 83, died 12 Mar 2003.  She was a native of Walton Co., GA.  James Nixon
was listed as her first husband and Lindberg Almond Saunders as second husband.  Burial was at Evergreen
Memorial Gardens.  Survivors include two daughters, Millie Coe of Monroe and Jamie Strom of Tucker.

(wife Trish) of Roswell, GA, aunt Lorena Boss of Kennesaw, GA, great aunt Lillie Mae Churchill of Monroe, GA,
numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Clara Boss
Hardigree; brothers, Homer Hardigree, Ollie Hardigree, Roy Hardigree; sisters, Lena Richardson, Mamie 
Crawford and Laverne Hardigree.  Burial services was handled by Tom M. Wages Funeral Service in 
Lawrenceville, GA.
