pp. 439-441 --
Rhonda Flynn, a Maddox / Maddux / Mattox researcher, sent some additional information on Mary Missouri Maddox,
wife of Zachariah Hardegree, and her Maddox ancestry.  She wrote that "Maddux is actually the 'preferred' spelling,
but Maddox and Mattox are seen quite a bit."  According to her death certificate and Rhonda's research, Mary's
parents were Ira H. and Elizabeth J. (Brannon) Maddux.   Although Mary isn't listed on the 1840 census with Ira and
Elizabeth, this family is shown to have two girls and both were gone by 1850 census.  On the 1850 census Zachariah
and Mary lived two households away from Ira and Elizabeth Maddox. On census records, Mary listed her father as
born in GA and her mother in SC.  Ira was born in GA and Elizabeth in SC.  Mary's brother James had a daughter
named Mary Missouri Maddux.  Ira H. Maddux (c1804 GA) and Elizabeth J. Brannon (c1799 SC) had at least two
other children, James G. Maddux and Thomas Franklin Maddux.  The parents of Ira H. Maddux were Benjamin
Maddux (1759) and Mary ___.  Ms. Flynn <rhondaflynn2@comcast.net> would love to hear from anyone researching
this family as well as the Maddux families.
Rhonda also contributed photos of the grave markers for Zachariah and his wife and copies of Zachariah's
obituaries.  She also found an interesting article about gold particles found on his property.

4.  Susan Elizabeth "Bettie" Mosely / Moseley, wife of James Daniel Hardegree, appears in this old photo of
Company K, 34th. Georgia Volunteer Infantry reunion.  She is on the front row, second from left.  The same
photo appears in the Heard Co. (GA) history book with a caption which identifed her as Mrs. Bett? Hardegree
(Bertha Hardegree Nutt's mother).  While James D. Hardegree was born in 1856, he would have been too young
to have served in the War Between the States.  Bettie's father Edwad Moseley served in this company.  The
photo was probably taken around 1900 to 1908.  Bettie's brother was Joseph H. Moseley who married James'
sister [9.] Adelia Hardegree.

30.  Joseph Bruce Hardegree
The death certificate of Pauline Hardegree, wife of Bruce Hardegree, showed that she died on 14 Aug 1922
